Grades:

        Assignments 35

        Exams           35

        Project           30

Notes:

  1. Assignments are usually computer assignments. We will use MATLAB Optimization Toolbox throughout the course. MATLAB is available at the College of Engineering package. For more information on the use of MATLAB, please check: http://www.egr.unlv.edu/stock_answers/.
  1. A copy of this schedule, and other course material, is posted at the Mechanical Engineering Department web site: http://www.me.unlv.edu. To access his material, click on: Syllabi, Course Notes, Handouts. Select, MEG 727 Course Information.
  1. Each student has to select a topic for optimization project by the mid-semester. Students will submit progress report (will be graded) a month later. Each student is expected to find an appropriate problem from his/her background. If any of the projects proves innovative, it may result in possible publication in an appropriate technical journal or conference.
