Course Purpose:

ME 440 deals with the following:

i. Continued covering of mechanics of materials topics such as deflection and fatigue. This coverage will be after we go through comprehensive review of the material covered in MEG 302.

ii. Design procedures for simple mechanical components such as power screws, threaded fasteners, gears, and roller bearings.

iii. Integrating general engineering principles, knowledge gained in steps (i) and (ii), and common sense in designing simple mechanical products.
