Design a
ratchet-action pipe cutter with the following specifications: ·
Pipe material: PVC ·
Maximum pipe size : 1 1/4 inches Design a
similar (not necessarily identical) ratchet wrench to the one below. The cutter
has these major components: handles, ratchet, blade, and quick-release switch.
This component list is not inclusive. General
Directions: ·
Assume that loads are static (use the
worst-case scenario). ·
Use an appropriate human factors handbook to
obtain suitable hand dimensions and forces. ·
You are to choose materials and dimensions
such that the design will not fail due to any possible combinations of
stresses. ·
Use the rapid prototyping machine to create
a 1:2 scale model of your design. ·
Note: You
may need to disassemble a wrench to better understand
it. http://www.mcmaster.com/#plastic-pipe-cutters/=jfqke2
