Motorcycles
that are often used on rough terrains need good suspension systems. The
figure below shows a testing system for the Kawasaki Uni-Trak
motorcycle rear suspension system (not to scale). Analyze the system.
The project include the following steps:
- Figure out the length
of all links based on the size of a regular motorcycle tire.
- Identify
suitable dimensions to the exciting object to simulate the largest
possible bump that the motorcycle will go over.
- Identify the linkage
loops and joints.
- Calculate the degree
of freedom of the linkage.
- Identify the input
link.
- Use Working Model to
study this system.
- Identify the ranges of
the motion of every link.
