• Find the displacement between t = 0 and t = 4 s

• Find the total distance traveled from t = 0 and t = 4 s

  • The total distance, s, traveled is greater than the displacement because the particle changed directions.
  • Find all the times when the velocity equals zero: set v = 0, solve for t
  • Add the displacements from each of these intervals

dy = y(4) - y(0) = 7.153 - 2 = 5.15 ft
