Example Problem 13-1
A particle moves along the y-axis with an acceleration given by a(t) = 5 sinwt ft/s2 where w = 0.7 rad/s. Initially (at t = 0) the particle is 2 ft above the origin and is moving downward with a speed of 5 ft/s.
- a) Find the velocity and position as functions of time
- b) Show position, velocity, and acceleration on a graph
- c) Show the displacement, dy, between t = 0 and t = 4 s.
- d) Find the total distance traveled, s, by the particle between t = 0 and t = 4 s.
