  SYLLABUS Credits: Total Credits: 3, Lecture: 3 credit hours, Lab: 0 hrs

Course Objectives: Provide our students overall pictures of modern manufacturing systems, and the ways of organizing people and equipment to achieve more efficient production.

Method of Teaching: Lecture, followed by project assignments to be completed before final exam.

Texts: Mikell P. Groover, Fundamentals of Modern Manufacturing, Materials, Processes, and Systems, Prentice Hall Inc., 1996.

Assignments: Homework will be assigned once or twice a week. Projects will be assigned in the first three weeks.

Grading: Grades will be assigned based on the following scale and weighting of component activities with the professional judgement of the instructor:
 
A Excellent 90-100  Midterm Exam 20%
B Good  80- 89  Homework 20%
C Average  70- 79 Laboratories  20%
D Passing 60- 69  Project/Presentation  20%
F Failure  0- 59 Final Exam 20%

Examinations: The students will take one or two mid-term examinations. The comprehensive final examination is scheduled for
                    December 17, 1999 (Friday) from 8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.
