Postdoctoral
Positions
In Mechanical Engineering
The University of Nevada Las Vegas is seeking
qualified postdoctoral candidates for new programs that have just started in
the Department of Mechanical Engineering. The department is experiencing
significant growth of its research programs, including several major research
programs funded by the Department of Energy and the U.S. Army.
We have a need for postdoctoral researchers with
expertise in computational solid mechanics to support a new U.S. Army research
program. The department is specifically looking for researchers with expertise
in one or more of the following areas: dynamic finite element analysis, shock
and vibration analysis, optimization, structural analysis of complex systems,
and explosive loading on structures. Candidates with additional experimental
background are especially encouraged to apply. Duties of the position include
developing research procedures, experimental setup, and partially supervising
graduate students. Candidates should expect to spend some of their time working
on writing follow-up proposals.
Interested candidates should submit a C.V.
